Ghost in the Shell by Patrice Murciano: The Major’s Awakening in Pop Art
Explore the boundary between the human and the machine with the work “Ghost in the Shell” by the artist Patrice Murciano. This spectacular creation pays tribute to one of the pillars of culture Cyberpunk and of Japanese animation. Through her style Neo-Luminist, Murciano breathes new life into the Major Motoko Kusanagi in an explosion of colour and technological energy.
A Cybernetic and Colourful Vision
Far from the usual dark and industrial aesthetic of Masamune Shirow's manga, Patrice Murciano use electric hues — deep purples, neon blues and flashes of yellow — to illustrate the “Ghost” (the soul) within the “Shell” (the casing). Their paint-splatter technique highlights the complexity of artificial intelligence and the digital deconstruction of the character.
This painting is a centrepiece for any lover of Manga, de Science Fiction or of Pop Culture seeking wall decoration that is both modern and intellectual.
