A work of art, not a filter
Each portrait is painted by Patrice Murciano using a graphics tablet, stroke by stroke, then printed and hand-finished in the studio in Montpellier. It is neither a retouched photograph nor a computer-generated image. It is a work drawn by the artist.

I am painting
The portrait is drawn entirely by hand, on a graphics tablet. The face, the light, the colours, the background, everything is recomposed.

I'm printing
On fine art paper or canvas, depending on what you have chosen. Every print leaves the studio and I check them one by one.

I am raising
I'm returning to hand printing, with ink on paper, and paint on canvas. Then I sign.
Three styles, one price
The same face, three ways to paint it. You choose when you order, and it makes no difference to the price.
A face, a couple, a group, an animal
De une à cinq personnes, animaux compris. Un mariage, une naissance, une communion, un anniversaire, ou simplement le visage de quelqu’un que vous aimez. You are sending your photos
You immediately receive a message with a button to deposit them. One or several, as you like, with no limit on the number.

Patrice is painting
Sous dix jours ouvrés, il vous envoie le portrait terminé par courriel. Deux retouches sont comprises si un détail vous gêne, puis 29 € par modification supplémentaire.

You receive the work
Nothing is printed until you say yes. Then the print is hand-enhanced, signed, and dispatched to your home.
Is your photo good enough?
Almost always. A photo taken with a phone is enough, what matters is that the face is clear. If it weren't suitable, we would tell you before starting.
Your questions, what we are asked most
Is this computer-generated?
No. The portrait is painted by Patrice Murciano using a graphics tablet, stroke by stroke, and then highlighted by hand. Nothing is done automatically.
Can lines and splashes be removed?
Yes, by choosing a different style. The lines are characteristic of the Murciano style; they are what make it recognisable. If you prefer a softer look, choose the natural watercolour or the black-and-white watercolour. All three are painted and signed by the same artist.
J’ai une photo de mon enfant et une autre de mon chien ou de mon chat. Peut-on les réunir ?
Yes, no problem at all, and it is very often requested. Send the two photos telling us who should appear, and next to whom.
I only have an old photo, a bit damaged.
Send it anyway. An old or slightly blurry photo can make a very fine portrait, because the portrait is entirely redrawn, it is not touched up.
Will I see the portrait before printing?
Yes, always. You will receive it by email and nothing is printed until you have given your consent.
And if I don't like a detail?
Dites-le simplement. Deux retouches sont comprises dans le prix : une mèche de cheveux, un sourire, un détail de vêtement.
Papier, toile tendue ou toile encadrée, que choisir ?
Le papier se glisse dans le cadre de votre choix, c’est la solution la plus souple. La toile tendue sur châssis bois arrive prête à accrocher, sans cadre, pour une présence plus épurée. La toile et cadre baroque donne à l’œuvre une vraie présence de tableau. Cette année, la toile tendue est rehaussée à la main d’office, sans supplément : c’est l’atelier qui lance cette nouvelle offre.
Can I hang it in direct sunlight, or put it outside?
No, and we prefer to tell you rather than sell you something that would get damaged. Direct sunlight and humidity are suitable for neither paper nor canvas.
Can I gift a portrait without having the photo?
Yes. Have one gift card the person will choose their own photo, style and format, whenever they want.

MANUFACTURE
All works and reproductions are produced in our workshops in the south of France. The prints are rigorously assessed to ensure the most faithful rendering of the original works by Patrice MURCIANO.
The manufacturing lead time is between 7 and 25 days depending on the formats and media.
The lead times are mentioned before adding the artwork to your basket!
DELIVERY
Delivery takes 2 to 5 working days in France and Europe.
We carry out quality checks and carefully package the prints before dispatch. Your artwork will be delivered by the carrier of your choice selected during checkout. An email with a tracking link will be sent to you as soon as your parcel is shipped. If you change your mind about your order, please contact us as soon as possible (no later than 14 days after receiving the parcel).
